JOB PURPOSE
To deliver inclusive and engaging dance sessions for individuals with disabilities, fostering a supportive environment that promotes physical activity, skill development and social interaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Session Planning and Delivery: Design and implement inclusive dance sessions tailored to the abilities and needs of participants, ensuring activities are both enjoyable and developmentally appropriate.
- Participant Support: Provide encouragement and adapt movements to suit different abilities, fostering an inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels welcome and valued.
- Safety and Welfare: Maintain a safe playing environment, adhering to Warrington Wolves Community Foundation Safeguarding Policies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with fellow coaches and volunteers to ensure coordinated delivery of the programme, including co-ordination of show dances to link in with the vast performance opportunities for the dance groups.
- Administrative Support: Lead session planning, as well as assisting with attendance records, subs collection and communication with parents/carers.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience in dance (any style) or movement-based activities.
- Prior involvement in coaching dance, particularly with individuals with disabilities is desirable.
- Dance coaching or fitness qualifications are beneficial.
- All volunteers will need to undertake a DBS (covered by the organization) and will aim to be put on a First Aid and Safeguarding Course.

- Patience and Empathy: A compassionate approach, with the patience to support participants as they develop at their own pace.
- Teamwork: Ability to collaborate with a diverse team of coaches and volunteers.
- Flexibility: Awareness of different disabilities and inclusive coaching methods, including ability to adapt dance moves to suit varying mobility and coordination levels.
